4. Spooky Branch Tree with Crows

The idea everyone photographs: a tall bare-branch tree in a dark urn, dotted with faux crows and trailing moss. It is dramatic, reusable year after year, and nearly free if you gather branches from your yard. Go taller than head height for real presence, and add tiny warm lights for an after-dark glow.

What You’ll Need

  • Large dark urn or tall planter
  • 5-7 tall bare branches
  • 3-5 faux crows
  • Trailing dried moss
  • Sand or floral foam + battery string lights

How to Make

  1. Anchor branches upright in the urn with sand or foam.
  2. Shape into a tree silhouette; trim awkward sticks.
  3. Wire crows onto branches at different heights.
  4. Drape moss over the branches.
  5. Weave in lights, hiding the battery pack in the urn.
