7. Photo Garland of the Couple

A photo garland is a sentimental addition that costs very little but means a lot. It celebrates the couple’s story and gives guests a sweet visual of the journey to the altar.
Materials
- Printed photos of the couple (4×6 or smaller)
- Mini clothespins or paper clips
- Twine or thin ribbon
- Small paper tags or cutout hearts
- Command hooks or tape for hanging
Instructions
Choose 15 to 25 photos that tell a little story, an early dating photo, a favorite trip, an engagement photo, a candid moment. Print them in black and white for a cohesive vintage look, or mix color photos with white cardstock backing for a cleaner display.
String your twine across a wall, mantel, or window. Use mini clothespins to attach each photo, and add a small heart or tag between a few of them for visual interest. Vary the spacing so it doesn’t look too uniform.
Time and difficulty: About 1 hour, beginner-friendly.
Display suggestions: Above the gift table, along a staircase railing, or behind the main seating area. This is also a great conversation starter during the event, especially for guests who haven’t met the couple yet.
Helpful tip: Ask the bride’s partner or a close family member to gather the photos ahead of time. Surprises are lovely, but you don’t want to accidentally leave out a photo the bride was hoping to see.
