2. Mason Jar Centerpieces with Hand-Tied Twine

Mason jars are the unofficial mascot of budget-friendly bridal showers, and for good reason. They’re inexpensive, versatile, and work with just about any theme. With a little love, they stop looking like plain jars and start looking like intentional decor.
Materials
- Mason jars (pint or quart size, 1 per table)
- Jute twine, lace ribbon, or thin satin ribbon
- Spray paint in white, gold, or blush (optional)
- Fresh or faux flowers
- Greenery such as eucalyptus or baby’s breath
- Tags or small chalkboard labels
Instructions
Decide if you want a rustic, vintage, or soft feminine look. For a rustic finish, wrap twine around the jar’s neck three or four times and tie a small bow. For a softer look, use lace or a satin ribbon. If you want a more polished feel, lightly sand the jars after spray painting them so the original glass peeks through in spots, that frosted effect looks lovely.
Fill each jar partway with water (for fresh flowers) and arrange a small, loose bouquet inside. Don’t overthink the arrangement. A cluster of three to five stems with a little greenery looks more natural than a stiff, symmetrical bunch. Tie a small tag to each jar with the bride’s name, the shower date, or a sweet quote about love.
Time and difficulty: 1 to 2 hours for 6 to 8 centerpieces, beginner-friendly.
Budget-friendly alternatives: Save glass jars from pasta sauce, jam, or candles. Clean them thoroughly and you’ve got free centerpieces. Faux flowers from the dollar store or a local craft shop work just as well as fresh and last indefinitely.
Helpful tip: Place jars on small mirrors or wood slices to elevate them slightly. It adds dimension and makes even the simplest setup look intentional.
