5. Personalized Bunting or Banner

Bunting instantly makes a space feel like a celebration. A personalized version, with the bride’s name, a sweet message, or a phrase like “bride to be,” takes a classic decoration and makes it feel custom.
Materials
- Cardstock or scrapbook paper in coordinating colors
- Twine, ribbon, or thin yarn
- Letter stencils or printed letters
- Scallop or circle paper punch (optional)
- Glue stick or double-sided tape
- Hole punch
Instructions
Cut your paper into triangles, circles, or flag shapes. For a classic triangle bunting, 6 by 8 inches is a good size. If you’re using a scallop punch, you’ll get a soft, decorative edge that looks lovely with no extra effort. Plan out your message and lightly pencil in letter placement, then glue printed or stenciled letters to each shape.
Punch two small holes at the top of each flag and thread twine through, spacing them about an inch apart. A dab of hot glue on the back of each flag keeps it from sliding around once hung.
Time and difficulty: 2 to 3 hours, beginner-friendly.
Display suggestions: Hang above the dessert table, drape across a fireplace mantel, or use as a photo backdrop accent. For outdoor showers, bunting looks especially sweet strung between two trees.
Budget-friendly alternatives: Use brown kraft paper and white paint pens for a rustic look, or repurpose pages from old books and sheet music for a vintage vibe.
