9. Illuminated Number Display

9
A glowing number display is a fun way to mark the year and create a photo-worthy moment. Use large cardboard or foam board numbers, available at craft stores, and decorate them in a way that complements your party palette. Some popular options include wrapping the numbers in string lights, covering them in sequins, or painting them in metallic shades with glitter accents.

For a string light version, poke small holes through the cardboard and thread a strand of battery-operated fairy lights through, starting at the bottom and working your way up. Secure the lights with small pieces of tape on the back. Once finished, the numbers will glow softly, especially effective in low lighting.

For a sequined version, cover the front of each number in fabric glue, then press sequins into the surface row by row. The result is a dazzling, jewel-toned display that catches every bit of light in the room. Display the numbers on a mantel, entry table, or as the centerpiece of your photo booth backdrop.
