3. Metallic Photo Booth Backdrop

Create a memorable photo moment with a DIY metallic photo booth backdrop. The easiest version uses a large roll of metallic fringe curtain, available at party supply stores or online, hung from a tension rod, command hooks, or a simple wooden frame. Fringe curtains come in gold, silver, rose gold, and multicolor metallic options, and they photograph beautifully.
For a more layered look, attach several strands of fringe curtain together, then add balloon clusters on either side. Alternatively, create a backdrop from a foam board or cardboard base covered in metallic paper circles, sequined fabric, or hand-cut stars. You can also frame the backdrop with oversized paper flowers, glittery stars, or a banner that reads “Cheers” or “Happy New Year” in metallic cardstock.
Set out a basket of props nearby: feather boas, sparkly hats, oversized novelty glasses, and chalkboard speech bubbles where guests can write their wishes for the year ahead. The photo booth becomes a natural gathering spot and gives everyone a keepsake to take home.
