2. Under-Cabinet Hanging Wine Glass and Bottle Rack

The space under your upper cabinets is one of the most underused spots in a small kitchen. A slim hanging rack that holds both bottles and glasses frees up counter space while creating a built-in bar feel, even in the tiniest galley kitchen.
You’ll need a piece of hardwood about 24 inches long, two strong mounting brackets, and a few small dowels or a pre-made wine glass holder that attaches underneath. Drill a row of three or four holes sized to fit standard wine bottle necks, then attach the wine glass rack below it. Screw the whole assembly into the underside of your cabinets using wood screws.
This entire project takes about 90 minutes and is great for beginners. The trick is making sure the brackets anchor into something solid. If your cabinets have a thin plywood bottom, add a backing strip of wood inside the cabinet for extra support. Finish with a wipe of mineral oil for a natural look, or paint it to match your cabinet color for a seamless built-in appearance.
Pro Tip: Choose matte black hardware if your kitchen has brass or gold accents. The contrast looks intentional and modern.
