3. The Empty Plastic Bottle Cruncher

3
Many dogs are absolutely obsessed with the loud, crinkly sound of crushing plastic. Unfortunately, letting a dog play with a bare plastic water bottle is highly dangerous, as they can easily chew off the sharp plastic cap, the plastic ring, or puncture the thin plastic, resulting in cut gums. You can easily make this sensory experience safe by encasing the bottle in a thick, protective fabric sleeve.

Find a clean, empty plastic water bottle. Remove the plastic cap and the small plastic ring around the neck of the bottle entirely, as these pose severe choking hazards. Take a thick, clean, mismatched crew sock and slide the bottle deep inside. Tie a secure, tight knot at the open end of the sock to lock the bottle in place. If you want to make the toy even more appealing, you can drop a few pieces of dry kibble inside the bottle before sealing it up, creating a makeshift rattle. As your dog bites down on the sock-covered bottle, they will enjoy the satisfying crunching sound and texture without any risk of cutting their mouth on sharp plastic edges.
